October was a great month for us. Not only did we celebrate 28 years of marriage, but we celebrated the marriage of our son Zack and his bride Morgan!
The Last RV Trip of the Year
Getting to the wedding turned out to be a little challenging. Camping World of Las Vegas had the RV patched up enough so we could take it to Los Angeles for the wedding.
We traveled half way the first day and spent the night outside Barstow, in the town of Yermo, California. Peggy Sue’s 50s Diner is a main attraction along the interstate, and they let you stay overnight in their large lot. So we pulled in, had a nice meal and got a good night’s sleep.
As we were pulling out in the morning, we noticed sounds that weren’t normal, and the coach wasn’t riding as smooth as usual. We pulled into another parking lot and went to work diagnosing. Turns out our air bags weren’t inflating properly.
We called a mobile tech who gave us the bad news that it would take two days to get the part we needed! Praise God we had given ourselves plenty of time to get to Los Angeles for the wedding. We made the best of it and soon were on our way.
We could not have asked for a better wedding for Zack & Morgan. The rehearsal dinner was wonderful, the wedding venue beautiful, and the ceremony was just amazing. Here are a few of photos.
Hanging Out in Pahrump
After a brief stop in Temecula to visit friends, we returned to Pahrump to get the motorhome back into the shop so the repairs from the blow out could be completed. We were grateful that the motorhome worked well enough for us to make the trip to LA. Now we wait while final repairs are being made.
We’ve had a lot of fun at our home base the past several months. Our friend Stacey visited from California, and we spent some time with her sightseeing in Las Vegas.
First stop was at the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop – home of the show Pawn Stars. It was fun to explore and check out the items for sale in the store. None of the stars / owners were present, but it was a great experience nonetheless.
We toured around several of the casinos including the Bellagio. The gardens inside are spectacular!
We’ve spent quite a bit of the remainder of our time having fun with our new friends. From Halloween parties to Pickleball, there always seems to be something going on here. It’s a great community.
Until next time, Happy Trails!
